Q.

My customers want to buy British. Where are your products made?

A.

Our profiles are manufactured entirely in the United Kingdom and are designed for United Kingdom and Eire building stock.

Q.

I do the occasional commercial job. Have Spectus got products to suit?

A.

Absolutely. Many of our customers concentrate on commercial work. Spectus products are in use in all sorts of buildings including schools, hospitals and retail premises.

Q.

Do you have a system for triple glazing?

A.

Better than that – our Elite 70 and Elite 63 systems accommodate beads to allow 36mm, 40mm and 44mm glazing. With thermally-efficient sealed units, these offer low U-value windows without the extra stockholding of dedicated systems for the occasional triple glazing order.

Q.

Spectus is part of a large group. I like dealing with the same people when I call a business.

A.

Yes, we’re part of a large business, but we’re not big fans of chopping and changing. In fact a lot of our people have been with Spectus more years than they would like to admit! Seriously though, we’ll always give you the names and numbers of your key contacts, and we’ll get to know you, because we like it that way.

Q.

I need accreditations but it’s expensive for a small business. Can you help?

A.

Yes, because we have our own testing facilities for weather, security and salt spray. Use our facilities to test your products and solve any problems before submitting them for the accreditation testing.

Q.

My customers want energy-efficient windows. Are your systems up to the job?

A.

Our systems are designed with energy efficiency in mind. Elite 70, Elite 63 and our Fully Reversible windows can, when appropriately glazed, achieve a Band ‘A+’ rating. Our market leading Vertical Slider with 24mm or 28mm double glazing can achieve a Band ‘A’ rating.

Q.

Do you have accessories that match your profiles?

A.

Yes. We pride ourselves on offering complete, fully-integrated systems including all the finishing touches.

Q.

Do you need planning consent to use your VS?

A.

All local authorities will have their own rules and guidelines, but we know that for many planning departments, the authentic appearance of our Vertical Sliders has permitted their installation in heritage properties.
