Spectus Windows Announces New Management Team

Published: 28th October 2009

Spectus Windows, the Macclesfield-based producer of PVC-u extrusion products for the manufacture of high quality window and door systems, has announced a new board of directors at an exciting time in the company’s development. When Spectus joined My House Group in February 2009, changes were made within in the existing Spectus team and an interim management from My House was introduced. The business is now delighted to announce the appointment of a permanent team. The new management team will be headed up by Adrian Ah-Chin-Kow as managing director. Adrian joined My House Group as marketing director from gaming machine operator, Gamestec, where he held the position of commercial director since 2007. Adrian brings over a decade of experience in senior management roles in IT and telecoms, along with retail experience with Dixon Stores Group international, one of Europe’s leading specialist electrical retailing groups. Adrian is joined by the new board of directors, which blends the extensive experience of Spectus’ existing senior team with Martin Althorpe as technical director, along with fresh perspectives brought from the rest of My House Group. Joe Haworth has been confirmed as finance director. Paul Copestick is appointed to manufacturing director with production director Peter Colclough and operations director Chris Powell both reporting to him. Recruitment of a sales and marketing director is underway to complete the new Spectus senior team. Ian Blackhurst, CEO of My House Group, says: “Spectus is the jewel in the crown of the My House Group and has already proved that it is a successful business, with a very strong eight months following the acquisition. The integration of Spectus into our group is now successfully completed, and the appointment of the new board of directors represents the next step in the company’s strategic development. “We have retained a vast amount of industry knowledge and brought in individuals who will give the business a brand new outlook, in order to take it to the next level and to continue to help our fabricator customers grow. “The new team is young, dynamic and ambitious, and Spectus itself is well capitalised and appropriately funded. We have introduced reduced lead times, improved product availability and other far-reaching efficiencies across all processes – all without compromising our industry-leading quality, exemplary range, its capability or profitability. The next steps will see a range of sales and marketing initiatives which build on our commitment to helping our customers’ businesses flourish. These are exciting times!” Spectus Windows became part of My House Group in February when Brian Kennedy, founder of Spectus parent Latium, sold 40 per cent of Spectus (which included the UK and Europe divisions), to long-term business partner Ian Blackhurst. The company sits alongside a suite of other successful businesses including Zenith Staybrite, Weatherseal, Job Worth Doing and Space Kitchens.
